Leipzig Veterinary Congress continues on its successful course

Packed halls, bustling aisles, highly satisfied exhibitors, conference participants, and speakers – this sums up the 11th edition of the Leipzig Veterinary Congress. 5.600 veterinarians, veterinary assistants, and students participated in the mammoth event from July 7 to 9. vetexpo boasted 282 exhibitors.

The 11th Leipzig Veterinary Congress explored numerous veterinary topics over three days in more than 500 lectures and courses. In addition to trends in veterinary practice and the digitalization of the industry, the focus was also on the connection between animal health and human health. "The variety and broad diversity of the lectures and the high-caliber conference program make the Veterinary Congress unique. Nowhere else do so many colleagues from so many disciplines come together," summarized Congress President Prof. Dr. Uwe Truyen. "In addition to traditional continuing education, this year we were able to provide impetus for professional and health policy."

Against the backdrop of the coronavirus pandemic, the necessity and importance of the One Health approach for human and veterinary medicine was emphasized across the board.

Trade fair vetexpo on growth path
"We look back on a very successful 11th Leipzig Veterinary Congress with the vetexpo trade fair. This is also demonstrated by the extremely high level of exhibitor satisfaction with the expanded exhibition space and a one-day extension," said Martin Buhl-Wagner, Managing Director of Leipziger Messe.

In addition to renowned market leaders and 17 international exhibitors, eight young companies were represented for the first time in the newly established startup area. In addition, the vetjobs24 Career Corner job fair offered the opportunity to engage with 36 employers from the veterinary sector, establish personal contacts, and exchange experiences. Daily workshops on topics such as application training and returning to work provided additional valuable inspiration.

The special exhibition on practice furnishings presented inspiration for visually appealing and functional furnishings for your own practice or clinic. Using walk-through rooms and a virtual tour, furnishing concepts and examples for the reception and waiting areas or treatment rooms were presented.

Great satisfaction of the exhibitors
A fully booked exhibition space saw 282 companies from 17 countries present their products and services related to pharmaceuticals, medical technology, modern practice equipment, animal nutrition, and IT services. Over 95 percent of exhibitors plan to attend vetexpo again in 2024 and recommend the event to others.
