Our glasshouses
In our greenhouses in Graz, Austria, the most modern greenhouse plantation of its kind in Europe, hand-grown, organically certified hemp plants grow on an area of almost 200.000 m². Free from pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides, the plants are carefully cultivated and then harvested by hand.
From greenhouse to laboratory
In this video you will learn how our industrial hemp is prepared for further processing in the laboratory using TAMACAN.
Crushed raw material
The plant cultivated in the greenhouse is crushed after harvest and prepared for processing.
- Appearance: crushed plant parts
- Smell: strong of fresh hemp
(typical hemp smell) - State of matter: solid
- Taste: herbal
CO2 extraction
The plant material, the biomass, is gently extracted using supercritical carbon dioxide. A crude extract with the full spectrum of the plant is obtained.
- Appearance: golden yellow extract
- Odor: light plant smell
- Physical state: pasty
- Taste: hot, spicy
Winterization
The crude extract is dissolved by heat, and interfering components are separated in this step.
A crude extract is obtained without any unwanted contaminants.
- Appearance: dark brown
- Smell: fresh hemp scent
- Physical state: viscous
- Taste: hot, spicy
decarboxylation
Here, cannabinoids, which occur in the plant as acids, are gently converted by heat and vacuum.
- Appearance: dark brown
- Smell: bitter hemp scent
- Physical state: viscous
- Taste: slightly spicy and spicy
Molecular distillation
The aim of this step is to obtain a highly pure cannabinoid extract: a premium gold extract.
From this product, the oil can be bottled directly and combined with a carrier or an isolate can be produced.
- Appearance: Light gold to reddish gold
- Smell: fresh hemp scent
- Physical state: liquid
- Taste: mild, spicy
full extract
The intensity of the concentration is determined by mixing the MCT oil (based on coconut oil) with the finished extract.
The full extract contains all the important components of the hemp plant. All cannabinoids and associated substances, such as terpenes and flavonoids, are preserved.
- Appearance: white to beige
- Smell: mild hemp scent
- Physical state: liquid
- Taste: neutral, mild, harmonious
Isolate production
The extract is crystallized by freezing. This separates the CBD from the rest of the material, making it easy to separate it. The result is a 99% pure isolate: a pure substance.
- Optics: white
- Odor: odorless
- Physical state: powdered
- Taste: slightly bitter and tart
isolate
CBD isolate is cannabidiol in its purest form, produced through fractionation.
- Optics: clear
- Smell: mild vanilla
- Physical state: liquid
- Taste: neutral
